REBECA YAMBERLA

'Soy  Rebeca Yamberla, tengo 43 años de edad y no tengo hijos, soy sola.  Mis  padres tuvieron 9 hijos, tres mujeres y seis hombres.  Pero hoy, apenas  tienen uno o dos hijos. En mi familia, mis cuñadas tienen cuatro hijos,  y solo yo no tengo ni uno.

Cuando  tenía 16 años de edad, aún era una niña y no pensaba en tener hijos.   Quería viajar con mis hermanos, ese era mi sueño.  Yo fui muy consentida  en mi casa, fui niña-de-mami.

Al  final, no me tocó viajar.  Mis padres no me dejaron salir del capullo,   nunca me casé y no me tocó tener hijos.  Siempre desee tener dos niños y  niñas.

Mi  situación económica no es buena.  Tenemos un pedazo de tierra en el  campo, donde crecemos maíz y papa.  Cuando se da, comparto con mis  hermanos y sus familias. Vendo piezas de joyería que hago al turismo, en  el pueblo.  Me gasto el capital y la ganancia, por eso pienso que  Diosito no me dio hijos.  Si no de donde podría alimentarlos.'

'I  am Rebeca Yamberla, I am 43 years old and I have no children, I am  single.  My parents had 9 children, three women and six men.  But today,  they have only one or two children. In my family, my sisters-in-law  have four children, and I don't have any.

When  I was 16 years old, I was still a child and didn't think about having  children.  I wanted to travel with my siblings, that was my dream.  I  was very spoiled at home, I was a mommy's girl.

In  the end, I didn't get to travel.  My parents didn't let me out of my  cocoon, I never married and I didn't get to have children.  I always  wanted to have two boys and girls.

My  economic situation is not good.  We have a piece of land in the  countryside, where we grow corn and potatoes.  When I can, I share with  my siblings and their families. I sell pieces of jewelry that I make to  tourists in the village.  I spend the capital and the profit, that's why  I think that God did not give me children.  If not from where could I  feed them?'
