'My  country is blessed with natural resources, but the issue is  sustainability in the wise use of our resources. Our government  officials amass wealth for themselves instead of using resources wisely  for the masses.

For  example, Ogoniland, a community in Nigeria has been polluted for many  years as a result of oil spillage borne out of the activities of  multinational companies and artisinal refining of crude oil.

This  has affected livelihoods of the rural population because they cannot  fish or farm due to water and land degradation as a result of the oil  spillage. The government has done nothing tangible to ameliorate the  situation.'
